Thursday, April 29, 2021

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families,

We received news this afternoon that a high school student has tested positive for COVID-19.

Following the updated guidance, this student has moved into isolation and we’ve initiated the updated protocols for close contacts. We have worked closely with the student’s family and teachers to ensure all close contacts have been identified. We have notified the parents of three eleventh-grade students that they will also have to quarantine. All impacted families and students have been contacted via email and will also receive follow-up contact from the STEM Leadership Team. STEM appreciates the cooperation of all students and families through this process.

We continue to work closely with Tri-County Health and follow their guidance to monitor for outbreak status and recommended next steps.

We received news today of three separate cases of COVID-19 that we wanted to keep you informed about. The first case are household contacts, one in third grade and one in eighth grade. The second and third cases are in seventh grade and are unrelated to one another.

The students impacted with these quarantines are a third-grade class, a small group of eighth-grade eLearners who were in person for CMAS testing, and approximately 35 seventh graders. We continue to work closely with Tri-County Health and follow their guidance to monitor for outbreak status and recommended next steps. At this time we do not meet the criteria for a school closure as these are all separate and unrelated cases.

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families,

We were notified this afternoon that an elementary student has tested positive for COVID-19 and another is a presumed positive for COVID-19. Both students have moved into isolation. Both cases are unrelated to one another and are in separate grade levels. The first case is a fifth-grade student that took part in the fifth-grade Revolutionary War Reenactment. Due to the amount of time and the level of interaction among the students, we were unable to isolate immediate close contacts and we made the decision to move all fifth-grade classes to remote learning.

Additionally, 15 students have been identified as “Close Contacts” to our second case and have moved into quarantine.

All impacted families and students have been contacted via email and will also receive follow-up contact from the STEM Leadership Team. STEM appreciates the cooperation of all students and families through this process.

All impacted families and staff members have been contacted by the administration and have been provided with the next steps and recommendations.

We continue to work closely with Tri-County Health and follow their guidance to monitor for outbreak status and recommended next steps.
