Driveline Process for 2020-21 School Year

Student Safety is the Primary Concern and Goal During Driveline. This page outlines important information that each family must know for both the West and the East Drivelines. Please review this information prior to the start of school to assist us with a smooth driveline.

*COVID-19 Update*

For Secondary Placards Only – We will not be distributing placards for Secondary families at this time. Due to the decrease in the number of cars going through driveline at the moment, we do not need to implement the placard system. Once we return to normal operating procedures, we will send information about Driveline Registration and Carpool.

New for 2020-21 School Year

We have launched the PikMyKid Dismissal App for our Elementary School Driveline for the 2020-21 School Year. PikMyKid is a dismissal program that provides an additional layer of safety and security to ensure that our students are be dismissed to the appropriate parent/guardian on the correct day. The use of this program also helps for us to enforce and maintain social distancing practices during the dismissal process. Click the button to the right to find out more about PikMyKid.

Placards

Ultimately, every family needs to have a color placard for entry into Driveline. That being said, it may take some time at the beginning of the year to get all the placards created. Everyone can use last year’s placards to start school, as we work to get updated placards for elementary families (or others who need them) in the next few weeks. The placards are required so that you know what time to drop-off and pick up your student(s); and to assist driveline staffers, particularly with bringing out younger children. Placards need to be displayed on the driver’s side visor showing student’s last name. For families with more than one child, last name on the placard is based on the youngest sibling’s last name.

How do I get a placard?

Please email support@stemk12.org with your student’s name(s) and grade(s), so that a placard can be assigned and printed for you. If you have a carpool group, just include the names and grades for all students in the carpool, and include at least one parent of each family on the email distribution.

Please note: this email is managed by parent volunteers, so it can take a few days for placards to be made and delivered to the school. You will be emailed when your placard is ready for pick-up. You will still be allowed in the Driveline in the meantime.

Loop Directions

West Loop Elementary (ES) and ES/MS/HS carpool groups with a variety of grade levels. Groups with a variety of grade levels to drop at school will drop-off and pick-up just once at the West Loop.
East Loop Middle School and High School (MS/HS)
Pick up time is determined by the OLDEST SIBLING’s dismissal time. Families with all Elementary Students or a mixture of Elementary and Middle and/or High School Students in their carpool will use the WEST pick up loop for both drop off and pick up. Families with only Middle and/or High School students in their carpool will use the EAST loop for both drop off and pick up. MS/HS students dropped off in the morning at West Loop can go to the MS cafeteria after 7:20 am as long as they sign in on the ‘ES sibling/carpool list’. If they arrive before 7:20 a.m., then they need to walk toward the Middle School Entrance. Currently, the High School Entrance is not open to students. Students will then be released to class after 7:30 am.

Loop Pick-Up Times

3-3:10 p.m. Blue Middle / High

NOTE: CARS WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE PARKING LOT DURING YOUR ASSIGNED PICK-UP TIME WINDOW OR AFTER.  This is a critical to the effective flow of cars. We are not able to accommodate cars that arrive earlier than their assigned time window due to their rider not being outside and ready for loading in the pick-up zones.  Site parking space is limited and there will be nowhere for extra vehicles to wait.

Elementary students are led outside by the classroom teacher at their assigned release time from the above chart.  They will be waiting in the designated pick-up loop. Elementary siblings will be held in selected areas and released to middle/high school siblings or carpool students between 2:50-3:00 pm. Anyone not picked up by 3:00 pm will report to BASE (after school program) located in the Elementary School gym. For Middle School and High School students: Anyone not picked up by 3:15 pm will need to report to the Middle School cafeteria for after school care.

Enforcement policy – citations and fines will be instituted if Driveline rules aren’t followed.
