Enrichment at STEM includes after-school care, clubs and activities.
Jessie Thomas is in her first year at STEM and will be teaching second grade. She is looking forward to bringing excitement to learning for all students, encouraging a growth mindset and learning from mistakes. She hopes to build a welcoming classroom community, where all her students strive to grow together.
She graduated from Missouri State University located in Springfield, Mo., (my home town) in 2019 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has also started her masters in Teaching and Learning with Capella University. She completed a year-long internship in Missouri for her student teaching that allowed her to co-teach for the whole year.
Her previous position was as a first-grade teacher at a school for the gifted and talented. Her first major in college was Biology Education and her love for biology and the sciences influences her as an educator as she feel it is a place where students can learn and grow in all areas.
She enjoys to crocheting and kayaking.
