I am so thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten at STEM School Highlands Ranch!
This is my 17th year as a teacher, I have taught 3rd grade, 2nd grade, Kindergarten for 6 years, and 8th Grade Science and Robotics/STEM for 8 years. I have my Master’s Degree in Education, my Elementary Education Teaching Credential and my Science Teaching Credential. I am a NASA Educator and pride myself on bringing real life science into my classroom everyday. I have been trained on Innovation, STEM, and Intellectual Property by US Patent and Trademark Office and work to teach innovation across all subject mater in my classroom. I collaborate with our students K-12 to foster innovation and problem based learning. I have been awarded the STEM Champion Award for developing and inspiring communities of STEM learners in impoverished areas. I have a strong passion for fostering change by motivating women and minorities to pursue STEM careers. Although, I love teaching Science and Robotics; my heart is set on teaching young students. I love their passion for learning, their creativity, and I love watching them discover the wonders of life! I took a risk and decided to try to teach computer coding last year to my Kindies and succeeded in teaching the next generation of innovators a life-long skill.
My husband (the amazing new 3rd grade teacher here), my wonderful 3 daughters and I moved from the San Gabriel Mountains in the Mojave Desert of California, where I was born and raised. We wanted our children to attend a school that would foster their talents and teach them to be life-long innovators. When I was offered the Kindergarten position at STEM School it was like a dream come true for our family, so we made a huge move!
