Science Olympiad Information Meeting

Monday, Sept. 16, at 5-6 p.m. – Google Meet

Join this information meeting to find out a little more about the Science Olympiad and the tournaments that the Science Olympiad students compete in. Science Olympiad is a club that prepares students for and provides students with opportunities to train to compete as a team in 23 events revolving around Science and Engineering. There will be a high school team beginning in Fall 2024.

Competitions are in February and late March/early April:

  • March 8, 2025: Southern Colorado Regional Tournament @ CSU Pueblo
  • April 5, 2025: Colorado State Tournament @ UCCS

Students are required to attend the two tournaments – Regionals and State (if we qualify) if they sign up for the Science Olympiad. Students will be members of a 15-person team. Each student will compete in a number of events with a partner or group of three, depending on the events. There are a number of academic events and building events.

Important Dates:

Informational Meeting – September 16, 2024, 5-6 p.m.

STEM School Accountability Committee (SAC)

Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 5:30-7:30 p.m. – KOSON/P-TECH Building (Mechatronics Lab)/Zoom

The meeting will also be available to watch via Zoom. In-person participation is strongly encouraged to help build engagement. Additionally, those who would like to participate in Public Comment must do so in person.

The purpose of the SAC is to inform, encourage, and provide opportunities for parents and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school’s instructional program and quality improvement processes. The SAC makes recommendations concerning the School’s performance, improvement, priority improvement, or turnaround plan, and meets to discuss the implementation of the School’s plan and other progress pertinent to STEM’s accreditation contract with the Board of Education. The SAC makes recommendations to the director to prioritize the spending of school money.
