Teacher and staff appreciation week at STEM School Highlands Ranch is always one of the highlights of the school year and this year did not disappoint. A very BIG thank you to our amazing PTO and the many other parent volunteers and students who came in on their Sunday to decorate our doors, hallways and lobbies. Our teachers and staff felt so appreciated, loved and surprised by the outpouring of love and support.
Each day of the week brought special surprises, breakfast and lunches that included Torchy’s Tacos, Jimmy Johns, Corner Bakery and so much more.
This act of week-long kindness made all of our staff feel cared for and appreciated. STEM parents are the best!
The inspiration for this abundance came from STEM parent and PTO co-president, Jeanie Brevoort. Jeanie recently spoke at the DCSD board meeting explaining her dedication to our school. She said her five children each have unique skills and interests. Somehow one school brings out the best in each child. Jeanie said when she realized this is her family’s school, she went to work to do her part to support the teachers and staff. We are all grateful for her dedication. Her youngest children are in elementary school so we hope to have this super volunteer for many years to come supporting our teachers and staff.
Thank you Jeanie’s team of volunteers and STEM staff who partnered to make the week so magnificent.
I want to also take a moment to thank our community for their care and compassion for our STEMShares event. The road through recovery is long and full of ups and downs. Some days we feel like we are doing great, and other days we find ourselves just trying to make it through. With the help of so many of our amazing community members who step up to support us all when we need it, we are able to continue to walk that road together.
