STEM Athletics Update

They don’t call it March Madness for nothing! STEM athletics have been busy since returning from Spring Break. We have been lucky with the weather so far. Keep your fingers crossed that it continues. 

 

Girls Soccer – lost a tough game at Addenbrooke on Wednesday and then soundly defeated Clear Creek on Friday 10-0. Well done ladies.

 

Boys Volleyball – JV  and Varsity both played this week. Varsity defeated St. John Paul the Great on Monday and then lost a tough 5 set match at Mile High on Thursday. JV defeated Mile high in 2 sets. The JV team will play in a tournament at Addenbrooke on Saturday. Good luck Spartans!

 

Girls Golf will play their first match next week on Thursday, April 3rd. Good luck ladies!

 

eSports eSports is in the final week of the season!  Our teams are doing amazing and we are looking forward to the playoffs!  

Congratulations to Kai Padilla who is currently ranked #1 is Goal per Shot %.  This is the one of two categories where Rocket League recognizes individual players. 

Currently eSports teams have the following rankings:

CHSAA

Mario Kart is 5-2 and 7/93 in CHSAA play.

Smash Bros. is 5-2 and 48/159 in CHSAA play.

Mountain Region

Marvel Rivals  is 5-2 and 19/110 in region play.

Rocket League is 3-4 and 24/57 in region play 

Vallorant Gold Team is 5-2 and 7/61 in region play

Vallorant Blue Team is 2-5 and 48/61 in region play.

Playoff teams will be announced next weekend.

Middle School:

Rocket League is 3-1 and ranked 5/33 in region play.

Smash Bros. Gold Team is 2-2 and ranked 42/87 in region play.

Smash Bros. Blue Team is 3-1 and ranked 11/87 in region play.

Speech/Debate -The Middle School team entered a tournament at Denver Christian on March 14th. We entered six teams (twelve students) in the public forum event in a field of 51 students from eight different schools, and of the top 5 teams that were announced, we took 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th! 

We also had seven students competing in original oratory in a field of 27 students from six different schools, and of the top 5 places that were announced, we took all 5
