COVID Update – Monday, Aug. 16 – Seventh Grade

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Secondary Families,

We were notified today that a student in the seventh grade has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was instructed to move into isolation and not to return to school until symptoms have gone away. The last date that the student was in school was Friday, Aug. 13.

The student has the following class schedule on Friday: Spanish 1B (Mr. Schwartz), Social Studies (Mr. Rogers), Computer Science (Substitute), Art (Ms. Mishoe), Middle School Study Hall (Mrs. Nason), Language Arts (Ms. Farnan), Algebra (Mrs. Tamendjari), Science (Mrs. Dwyer).

At this time, STEM will not be conducting contract tracing and will not be requiring quarantining, other than the COVID-positive student/staff member. We are asking families to keep any student home who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

It is at the family’s discretion if they would like to keep their student (who is not COVID positive and not showing any COVID symptoms) home from school, however, we do ask that they please follow the proper attendance procedures by calling the attendance line. We want all COVID positive students and staff to remain at home.

Please reach out to communications@stemk12.org with any questions.

Thank you,

STEM School Highlands Ranch Communications
