Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Secondary Families,
We were notified today that a student in the 11th grade has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was instructed to move into isolation and not to return to school until symptoms have gone away. The last date that the student was in school was Friday, Aug. 13.
The student had the following class schedule on Friday: Engineering (Mr. Shallenberger-Period 2); Physics (Mr. Rubin – Period 3); English (Mr. Cooper – Period 4); US History (Ms. White – Period 5); PE (Mr. Ray – Period 7); Studio Art (Mr. Smith – Period 8); Calculus (Mr. Snow – Period 9)
If your student was present in any of those classes at the same time, they may have been exposed. We ask that you please monitor them for symptoms of COVID and if they develop any, to please keep them at home.
At this time, STEM will not be conducting contract tracing and will not be requiring quarantining, other than the COVID-positive student. We are asking families to keep any student home who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.
It is at the family’s discretion if they would like to keep their student (who is not COVID positive and not showing any COVID symptoms) home from school, however, we do ask that they please follow the proper attendance procedures by calling the attendance line. We want all COVID-positive students and staff to remain at home.
Please reach out to email@example.com with any questions.
