Dear Elementary School Families,

I want to give a huge shout out to PTO for putting together our amazing Glow Dance last Friday. It was so much fun dancing the night away with our students, staff and families. THANK YOU PTO!!!

February 15th is National School Resource Officer Day, and we happen to have the best SRO around.  Deputy Gabe Uribe has been with us for six years, and he is truly an integral part of our STEM Family.  In an effort to honor him, we are planning a surprise next Wednesday, February 12th. We intend to surprise Deputy Gabe with an honor walk, hundreds of cards, and a plaque. Here is my big ASK of you.  We are hoping to have everyone in the school dress in BLUE on the 12th to honor Deputy Gabe. Would you please ensure that your child dresses in blue or some other way to honor him?

Our February monthly theme is self esteem. Our classrooms will be having conversations and participating in different activities around self esteem.

Here are a few important announcements:

Love of Reading Week: Our annual Love of Reading Week will be from February 24 to February 28. We will be celebrating all things reading. Our students will have an opportunity to participate in various activities including our Book March Madness bracket, the Bookmark contest, and the Snuggle up and READ event. On Friday, February 28th, we will have a schoolwide Pajama Day as part of our Snuggle Up and Read Day.

Wish Week: STEM will host its annual K-12 Wish Week from March 3 – March 7.  Be on the lookout for more information about events during this week.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Parent/teacher conferences will be held the week of March 10-14th. This is a time to communicate and partner with your student’s teacher to ensure a successful end of the year. Please be on the lookout for communication from your student’s teacher on how to sign up.
