Dear Elementary School Families,
As we enter the final two weeks of the school year, I’m incredibly proud of all that our students have accomplished and grateful for the continued support from our families. We’re looking forward to celebrating the growth and successes of each child, and we’re committed to finishing the year with the same care, energy, and enthusiasm that has carried us through. Thank you for being our partners every step of the way—let’s finish strong, together!
I want to give a huge shout out to our specials team for organizing and executing field day last Thursday. This is no easy task. Everyone involved had a blast. It’s such a great way to end the school year.
I hope everyone had an opportunity to attend the art show. Our students worked very hard to create pieces to showcase to our community. Shout out to Karen Vinger, Jessica Manzanares and Kaitlyn Meska for all your hard work in organizing our student pieces for display.
I also want to give a big congratulations to Jill Dean on her nomination for the DCSD Shining Star Awards. This honor, given by the Douglas County Special Education Advisory Committee, recognizes staff members who go above and beyond in supporting students who receive special education services. Being nominated by families is a true testament to the care, dedication, and impact Ms. Dean has on her students each and every day.
Kindergarten and Fifth Grade Continuation: Come celebrate our youngest and oldest learners as they close out an important milestone in their academic journey. Continuation for both kindergarten and fifth grade will be on Tuesday May 20th. Kindergarten will be from 5-6pm and fifth grade will be from 6:30-7:30pm. Continuation will be in the secondary gym. Please use the athletic entrance. Refreshments for students will be provided after.
Last Day of School: Last day of school for elementary students is Wednesday May 21st. This will be a half day. K/1 will be dismissed at 11am and 2-5 will be dismissed at 11:15am. Secondary students have a full day of school on Wednesday.
Enrollment and Withdrawal: We’re looking forward to a successful 2025/2026 school year. However, we recognize that some families may be exploring alternative educational options. If your child will not be returning to STEM next year, please complete the STEM Withdrawal Notification Form as soon as possible. This advance notice is crucial for our planning and resource allocation. Remember, this form initiates the process; you’ll also need to complete enrollment at your child’s new school. Thank you for your cooperation!
Lost and Found: Our lost and found is beyond overflowing. Please come and look for your students’ belongings before summer break. All items in the lost and found will be donated to children in need at the end of the school year.
