Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Elementary School Families,
We do our best to keep our families as informed as possible whenever there is an impact on their student’s learning experience. On a daily basis, our Leadership Team works to ensure that there is enough teacher coverage in our building at all times for a safe learning environment for all students.
In our planning process for tomorrow, we have identified that we will not have enough in-house staff on hand, or available via the DCSD Substitute Database, to safely have your Elementary student come in for in-person learning tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 4).
Your Elementary student will still be able to access their coursework via Google Classroom/Canvas and will still be able to communicate with their teachers via email. Please assist your students with gaining access if needed. Due to the short notice, teachers will do their best to provide synchronous and asynchronous opportunities tomorrow to the best of their abilities.
This is only impacting students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Secondary students will follow their regular Gold Day Schedule with Cohort B attending in-person for Thursday, Feb. 4.
We understand that this news may be frustrating and we truly apologize for the inconvenience. If your student attends BASE, please reach out to them directly with questions.
Please reach out with any questions.
Ms LynAnn Kovalesky, Interim Elementary School Director
