Spring clubs are coming to STEM school! The following newsletter details the new clubs available for elementary and secondary students for the Spring club session. Please look at the following clubs and register for any clubs you may be interested in! *Asterisk denote new programs.
Elementary FIRST LEGO League Explore Season Starting Soon
STEM Enrichment is hosting a meeting for parents on Tuesday, December 10th from 2:30 – 3:00 PM for parents and students interested in participating in the upcoming season of FIRST LEGO League Explore. Students should only attend this meeting with their parents. Please complete RSVP by December 6th.
Registration will open December 11th. Attending the meeting will give your family priority in team placement, ensuring your child has the best opportunity to be part of this exciting FLL Explore season. Volunteers play a crucial role in creating a rich and rewarding experience for all students. As a volunteer coach, you’ll receive guidance and support from our experienced returning coaches, empowering you to help shape young minds and foster teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Join us in making this season unforgettable for our students!
Battle of the Books
Our Battle of the Books qualifying quiz will take place the first week of December (when students return from Thanksgiving Break!) Third, fourth, and 5th grade students will take the quiz in their study hall that week. Sixth grade students will come to Mrs. Ackley’s room to complete the quiz on Thursday or Friday at 3:00 (right after school). The questions will be phrased just like real battle questions. For example “In which book did…” Students will receive points for correct titles and authors. The top seven students in each grade bracket will be selected for our teams! Remember your student needs to have submitted their Battle of the Books packet in order to be able to join our team. Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Ackley or Ms. Gusich. Happy Reading!
