Enrichment at STEM includes after-school care, clubs and activities.
To prepare me to be a certified educator for your child I went through many different courses and rigorous training. To start my education, I graduated Magna cum laude, from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2016, with my bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies. I then graduated Magna cum laude from Relay Graduate school in 2019, with my master’s in education.
During my Undergraduate degree I student-taught in 2nd and 3rd grade, while tutoring students who needed extra assistance. Once I graduated with my undergraduate degree I long-term subbed in Kindergarten. Once I finished long term subbing, I craved a deeper understanding of education as a whole. This led me to applying to Relay Graduate school in Denver. While I was diligently working on completing graduate school, I co-taught Kindergarten in DPS for a year. Then taught as a Preschool teacher, while teaching an enrichment reading group in Highlands Ranch. As much as I loved teaching, learning, and exploring with my preschool students I deeply desired to be in my own classroom. I wanted to be in a school that treated everyone like family, while fostering innovation and problem solving with all students. This is what led me to want to be a teacher at STEM Highlands Ranch.
Being a K-5 teacher has taught me to have a growth mindset; which means I am always looking for opportunities to learn and grow alongside my students. Being a lifelong learner is something I try to instill in my students. One of my goals for my students is to provide them a safe and diverse learning environment to discover their own unique learning style, interests, and personalities while each student creates and updates their own trackable goals.
In my classroom we get messy, make mistakes and always try again! We know that making mistakes is how we learn and become better for the next day. We come to school with a positive attitude, ready to learn, by exploring, innovating and making mistakes. I cannot wait to meet each and every one of my new first graders! I know we will have an amazing and memorable year!
