Ana Cortez joined STEM during the 2021-22 School Year as one of the Secondary Spanish Teachers. Ana is a native of Lima, Peru.
She has a Bachelor’s in Education with a Major in Physical Mathematics and Religious Science. Also, Ana has studied Psychology specializing in Learning Problems with kids. These studies allowed Ana to work in the specialized office of sensorial integration, language, and learning in Lima, Peru. Then, she developed her ability to interact with an interdisciplinary team of specialists to support infants, children, teenagers, and parents.
Ana has worked as a teacher with diverse levels and subjects in public and private schools in Lima. Her commitment and discipline allowed her to be chosen as coordinator of the Catholic Education Office in Lima, where she supervised and advised teachers from various schools. As a coordinator, Ana organized and implemented various social work projects throughout the districts of Lima.
Ana desires to know the world and cross the barriers of the language. This motivated her to study English and earned her Postgraduate title of Teaching of English Language. Ana met her husband, who is a native of Colorado, in Lima. After moving to Colorado, she has had the experience of working as a Spanish Instructor in different schools in Metro Denver.
