My Bio

Eric Hicks joined the STEM School Highlands Ranch staff in September 2020 after serving for two years as an educator for Kukoa education. At STEM, Eric Hicks has taught various academic courses, including Spanish 1A, Spanish 1C, Spanish 2, 3,4, Computer Science, ASL, MS Economics, and 6th and 7th grade Fine Art classes.

Before working at STEM, Eric spent 24 years working in education as an Art, Photography, and Technology instructor in the Bay Area. Hicks moved to Colorado in 2018 to continue to broaden his teaching practice. Having served a long successful career with Redwood Middle School, Hicks could display his wide variety of talents as a Basketball Coach and an advanced Scuba diver for summer clubs and teams.

A summary of his work history indicates real professional experience as an artist, teacher, and mentor. Hicks Graduated from UCSB with a degree in Fine Arts in 1998. He worked for the Daily Nexus Newspaper Illustrator from 1996 to 1998 and the B. Davidge Architecture Firm as an Illustrator from 1998 to 2000.

He worked as an Electronic Arts Game Developer from 2000 to 2004 and received his Fine Arts teaching credential in 2004. He began teaching High School Art and Digital Photography in 2005 and continued through 2013 while working as a professional painting instructor for Saratoga Art from 2001 to 2019. Most recently, he has worked as a professional wedding photographer and corporate events photographer.
