Enrichment at STEM includes after-school care, clubs and activities.
Dzien Dobry! I am Erik and this will be my third year teaching at STEM School Highlands Ranch. I’m excited to be teaching at such a progressive and innovative school. I earned my BA in English from Colorado State University and an Master’s in Elementary Education from Adams State University in December, 2017.
A Colorado native, I spent most of the last decade teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) overseas. I have worked in Poland (translate my greeting), Thailand, Vietnam and Japan and I’ve learned some of each countries’ language along the way. While living abroad, I also earned graduate and post-graduate TEFL diplomas and certificates from Cambridge University. My last job in Japan was training the Japanese school teachers how to teach English more effectively as part of a government project. All this traveling left me feeling homesick for Colorado, so I moved to Littleton in the summer of 2016 to complete my teacher education program in Englewood.
In my free time I enjoy playing bass guitar in a band. I run, hike, play computer games, travel internationally and like to sing karaoke. Having built several computers and studied networking in high school, I enjoy integrating technology into my classroom in every subject. Last year at STEM, my students built Cubelets robots, made pulley systems with Lego Mindstorms, and used a plethora of online learning platforms to complete assignments and create amazing presentations. I can’t wait to see what this year’s students are capable of!
