At STEM School Highlands Ranch we put innovation at the center of learning to unleash the potential of all students and prepare them for an exponentially changing world.
Jane McKinney is in her first year at STEM School Highlands Ranch and is serving as a fourth-grade teacher. Prior to joining STEM, Mrs. McKinney was a long-term Elementary STEM Specialist substitute teacher at the American Community School Amman in Amman, Jordan.
In her own words:
My name is Evgenia McKinney, and I usually go by Jane. I speak three languages, have dual citizenship, and have teaching licenses in both Russia and the USA. I’m a mother of three bilingual children who are also my lifelong teachers. They always encourage me to be a better parent, teacher, and person. Inspired by my children and students, I have consistently educated myself in neuroscience, occupational therapy, bilingualism, special needs, learning disabilities, and children’s cognitive development. At my work, I always look at situations from all possible angles and perspectives to best cater to all students’ needs.
As a teacher, I believe that every student is a treasure chest, and it is my job to find the right key. My family has lived in Moscow, Russia, and Amman, Jordan. Now, we are looking forward to finding our permanent home in the Denver area. Our family is very active, and we look forward to exploring everything Colorado has to offer.
