Jenny Johnson starts her eighth year at STEM, seven of which have been serving as a teacher in the secondary math department. She is excited and thankful to have found this learning community to pursue her passion for teaching and serving others.
She is a Colorado native, born and raised in the Broomfield area. After high school she moved to Rapid City, SD, and attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. She thoroughly enjoyed school and all the leadership opportunities available at SDSM&T and is proud to call herself a Hardrocker.
She pursued a career in Production Management with Cargill, Inc., following college. She earned many opportunities for traveling and leadership experiences within the Grain and Oilseed Supply Chain of Cargill. She has experience as a Production Supervisor and Manager in a multi-vegetable oil refinery and a biodiesel manufacturing facility. After several years away from her extended family, her husband, Wade, was offered a position with his engineering firm here in the Denver area and they just couldn’t pass it up. They love living in Castle Rock and staying busy with their twins and new baby girl.
Although having taught science here at the STEM School Highlands Ranch, she found her passion early on in mathematics and specifically with math interventions and support. She has also served as an Instructional Coach working with STEM School Staff to support student success.
In her role as an an Assistant Director she oversees the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) here at STEM. She has a passion for collaborating and working with teams to support growth among teachers and student learning. Outside the classroom, she loves to spend time with her family and friends, exploring the outdoors, traveling and shopping.
