Dr. Jistine Harrison joined STEM for the 2022-23 School Year as the Director of Student Support Services. She is in her 21st year in education.
A member of STEM’s administration team, she provides support and supervision of Special Education staff, counselors and mental health providers, Career Discovery staff, G/T coordinator, MTSS coordinator, and ELD teachers. She also provides program oversight of IEPs, 504s, ALPs, and ELLPs.
She oversees MTSS implementation and works with staff and families to ensure the needs of all students are identified and served. She also engages stakeholders to ensure the social-emotional needs of students are served.
She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa. She holds two master’s degrees, one in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2007, and one in Educational Technology with a certificate in K-12 online teaching from Boise State University in 2011. She earned her Doctor of Education in Leadership for Educational Equity from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2021 with a concentration in Executive Leadership.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time in the mountains. Her family enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, paddleboarding/kayaking, camping, and just soaking up the mountain air. She lives in Castle Rock with her husband, two sons, and dog Kenosha. Her oldest is at Douglas County High School, and her youngest is a member of the STEM family. She is an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan originally from Southern California but is so thankful to call Colorado home.
