Welcome Back to School!

Welcome Back to School

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families,

A new year and the hope for our community to excel in what we do best: Maximizing Student Potential. We know you choose STEM as a better choice for the unique needs of your student that was not fulfilled by your neighborhood school. STEM is the only school that constantly reinvents itself to accelerate with our students.

As we head into 2021, I wanted to share with you some exciting news that we received over the Winter Break. STEM received almost $80,000 in reimbursements from the Colorado General Assembly for our high-level industry certifications earned by our students in the 2019-20 school year. These funds will be reinvested in computer science and engineering to continue offering these career-changing opportunities for our students. The site licenses, hardware, software and teacher qualifications require added resources, and our legislators wisely set up this reimbursement program to encourage public schools to provide this opportunity.

Colorado High School students are better prepared for STEM careers by earning these national certifications. STEM is a leader in the state for this reimbursement program. Our computer science and engineering faculty continually expand these opportunities for our motivated students. Click here for the list of certifications.

I hope that you have all enjoyed a relaxing winter break because STEM has a packed January calendar of events that we hope you can attend. Among the many events, the STEM Town Hall is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 14 and we look forward to revisiting the Strategic Plan that was approved last April. The five pillars of the Plan continue to propel STEM forward in our mission to Never Stop Innovating. Be on the lookout over the next week for some informational videos that our Communications Team is putting together to highlight what our committee has been working on since our last Town Hall meeting.

We are excited to be back with our students. Thank you for partnering with us to maximize your student’s potential.
