Director's Update
A message from Mrs. McElroy, Elementary School Director
Dear STEM Families,
I hope everyone has been staying warm as we went from a nice warm fall immediately into a winter wonderland. Thank you families for pivoting on Wednesday for our first virtual day of the year. The first virtual day of the year can have its challenges, but hopefully all the kinks have been worked out and virtual days (if we have any more) will be smooth from here on out. Also regarding cold weather, students will go outside everyday unless temperatures are below 20o F or if the conditions are too wet and slippery. Please make sure your student is prepared to play outside during the colder temperatures. This includes the morning too.
We had a great first week of our kindness month. Students were engaging in our daily kindness challenges. Back by popular demand our compliment box will return next week. Students will have an opportunity to write a compliment to their peers or staff . The compliment will be read on the announcements in the morning.
Finally, an important driveline reminder. Please make sure to pick up your student at the designated dismissal time. We are frequently having families pickup after 3:30pm, this is an hour after elementary students have been dismissed. We do not have the staffing to support late pick ups and will not leave students unattended. Moving forward any student who is not picked up by 3:10pm will be charged per our student parent handbook policy ($1/min).
Thanksgiving Food Basket Drive
The student council will be hosting a Thanksgiving Food Basket Drive from now until November 18th. Our food baskets will be delivered to Doull Elementary School for needy families. Each grade level will be responsible for donating specific items to the food baskets. We also want to include King Soopers gift cards for $25 in each basket. Our goal is to make 50 complete food baskets. If we reach 50 baskets, Ms. J and I will be duct taped to a wall. Please help our students reach our goal.
K: Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
1st: Mac -n- Cheese
2nd: Canned Fruit
3rd: Canned Veggies

All grades can donate King Sooper gift cards in $25 increments
