Enrollment

STEM School Highlands Ranch is a Douglas County School District Charter School and operates under the Enrollment Calendar of the District. For general Open Enrollment guidance through Douglas County, please visit DCSD Open Enrollment.

New Student Enrollment Process

  • STEM School Highlands Ranch accepts names for enrollment via our waitlist throughout the year. On December 1, we begin to pull students off of the waitlist for enrollment for the upcoming school year. Enrollment is based on grade level availability.  You will be given a 48-hour window to accept enrollment, so, please be sure to take a school tour any Wednesday morning at 10 am so you are ready to make a prompt decision.
  • Priority will be given in this order: Founding families first, followed by siblings of current STEM students, employees, and Douglas County residents. These students will be put at the top of the waitlist.
  • Sibling priority does not guarantee enrollment if there is not grade level availability.
  • Due to waitlist priorities, we cannot release information regarding a student’s position on the waitlist.  Please do not call or email to request information regarding waitlist positions.
  • The wait list is carried over from year to year. Names remain on the waitlist until they are placed for enrollment.
  • There are no admission requirements.
  • Once your student’s name is on the waitlist, no further action is required.
  • STEM School Highlands Ranch does not operate their waitlist the same as Douglas County School District Open Enrollment.

Visit STEM

At the present time, STEM is not doing any in-person tours. When we return to normal operating procedures, we will open our doors every Wednesday at 10 a.m. for tours. There is no need to sign up, just meet in the Middle School Lobby. We ask that you arrive about 10 minutes early so that the group is ready to go at 10 a.m.

You will need to need to have your driver’s license in order to have a visitor badge made. Because we offer the weekly tour on Wednesdays at 10 a.m., we do not provide shadowing opportunities. Please check our website for school holidays, closures or other reasons the Wednesday tour might be cancelled. We also provide a High School Showcase night during the first Open Enrollment window.

Prospective Parent Information Session

If you’re interested in learning more about STEM, take part in our weekly Prospective Parent Information Session on Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. via Zoom.

New and Returning Students

Please complete the Intent to Return to STEM form by December 18, 2020

Do you Intend to Return for the 2021-22 School Year?

For enrollment planning purposes, please let us know, either way, if your child plans to return to STEM School Highlands Ranch next year.

Please complete this form for each of your currently attending STEM students. If you are currently enrolled at STEM please let us know that your child is returning. You do not need to “open enroll” to remain at STEM. If your child is currently attending STEM, they will be automatically enrolled for next year. Please also complete the form if your student is planning to seek enrollment at another school so that we can have an accurate count of returning students.

Do you Have a Sibling Who Wants to Attend STEM Next Year?

Does your current STEM student have a sibling who is interested in attending STEM for the 2021-22 school year? Did you know that they have priority on our waitlist? Please add them to our waitlist now! STEM’s open enrollment is now open and we will begin notifying families of accepted spots for the 2021-22 school year beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Now Accepting Names for the 2021-22 School Year!
