Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families,
We’ve shared in the Parent Newsletter over the last few months that STEM will participate in a pilot program to test the Evolv Express Syhttps://stem. As we’ve shared, the pilot program is being funded through a grant from the Douglas County Commissioners.
Over the last few years, the Commissioners have vetted about a dozen different security technologies, and through a lengthy process, they have selected Evolv Express as a possible addition to school and government building security.
Through the grant, STEM will receive three Evolv Express Syhttps://stems that will eventually be utilized at both the Secondary and Elementary main entrances, as well as the Athletics Entrance. During the three-year pilot program, the Evolv Express Syhttps://stem will be located at the Athletics Entrance to start. The grant will also fund an independent security firm that will operate the Evolv Express Syhttps://stem and work alongside the STEM Administration Team if any weapons are detected by the syhttps://stem.
The pilot program is being created, managed and implemented by the Evolv Implementation Team, which is comprised of parents, students and staff.

The Evolv Express Syhttps://stem has arrived at STEM and our students and staff will have the opportunity next week to see the syhttps://stem before it is installed at the Athletics Entrance. Experts from Evolv will also be on campus to answer any questions from students and staff.
With it being so close to the end of the school year, a Community-Wide event around the Evolv Syhttps://stem will be held at the start of the new school year.
