Courtney Alascio

My Bio

Ms. Alascio is one of the new first-grade teachers at STEM this year. She is also brand new to Colorado and loves it! She grew up in North Carolina and has wanted to be a teacher since she was in Kindergarten. She babysat and tutored until she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014 with a degree in Education. She started out teaching pre-k before bringing her love of play and exploration to the first-grade setting in 2017. She taught first grade at a STEM School in Charlotte, North Carolina, before leaping to move across the country and find another STEM school to love.

Ms. Alascio loves to use her creativity both inside and outside of school, and you will often find her trying new things at least once! She has always loved to be outside, but since moving to Colorado (in July), she has found a passion for hiking and camping. She is also very passionate about college basketball, particularly the UNC Tar Heels, so in March, be prepared to hear nothing but basketball commentary! She has a huge heart and loves animals of all kinds. She has fostered and adopted many dogs in her lifetime and loves to ride horses.

Ms. Alascio is very excited to be a part of the STEM community and hopes to make Colorful Colorado her new forever home! She is excited to partner with her students’ parents and makes a positive learning community for all of her young learners.
