Are you looking forward to a three-day weekend? ME TOO! Last weekend I only had one day off, and it was busy. So, having a three-day weekend is exactly what I need. I don’t have any plans, but those are the best days.
Weekends like this one bring a lot of opportunities to have fun but also bring reminders to be safe. Whatever you are planning on doing, please be cautious and, as I mentioned in my last Walking the Beat, be always aware. Fall is in the air, but during the next three days, the weather will be warm and sunny. That means outdoor activities: running, cycling, swimming, etc. Be responsible while doing any of the activities mentioned before. Keep an eye on your little ones and make sure they are safe while having fun.
Here is a reminder to everyone: parents and teenagers that drive too. If you consume any alcoholic beverages, please don’t drive. Drinking and driving are one of the most selfish acts I’ve ever seen. Too many times have my co-workers and I responded to crash scenes where alcohol was involved. Please be mindful and a responsible driver. Enjoy the weekend, get some rest, and spend time with your loved ones.
Before closing, I wanted to say thanks to everyone that uses driveline to pick up their children. It is very important to follow the directions of the volunteers/staff in charge of the ingress and egress of the parking lot. The main reason why I was present during the driveline this week was that vehicles with an orange tag can’t stack up on the street before their pickup time. This creates a traffic hazard, and the last thing we want is to have an accident happen because of this. Thank you, everyone, for following my directions, and please know that if I asked you to move without engaging in a conversation/explanation is because stopping in the middle of the road to chat is not an option due to how dangerous it can be.
Thank you for helping us to keep our students safe! I can’t tell you enough how thankful I am for having the opportunity to be part of your student’s story. If you have questions, please email me at gabe.uribe@https://stemk12.org, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you again for your time…GO SPARTANS!
Be safe!
