All students to move to Virtual Learning for Thursday and Friday due to Staffing Shortage

Virtual Learning

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families,

Based on guidance from the CDPHE and approval from our STEM Board of Directors, our Leadership Team has decided to transition to Virtual Learning for the remainder of this week due to staffing shortages related to COVID.

Our team works incredibly hard to make sure that we have adequate staffing each day to operate safely, and while we have exhausted all efforts, we are unable to fill the sub-requests for the number of open positions.

We understand that this news may be difficult for some of our families, but we want all families to know that this decision was made after a careful review of all options. Our goal is to provide in-person learning for all of our students, as safely as we can.

All students will be virtual Thursday and Friday with teachers providing both synchronous and asynchronous instruction for each class. Students will access their coursework through Canvas or Google Classroom. Teachers will either post instructions in their Canvas Courses or email them directly to the students or parents (depending on the grade level).

If your family utilizes BASE for K-5, please check the program director.

Members of your Leadership Team will be meeting over the next few days to reassess staffing and we will provide additional updates as we have them.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are #STEMStrongerTogether
