Athletics Update from Mrs. Jones (10/13/23)

Wow! What a week! Our teams were very busy this week.

Boys Soccer played two games this week: Monday against Rocky Mountain Prep-SMART and Wednesday against DSST: Green Valley Ranch, both at David A. Lorentz Park. Wednesday’s game was the last game of the season! The boys battled valiantly but came up short in both games. Lightning ended the last game in the second half. The seniors were recognized at half-time and thanked for their hard work on behalf of STEM. Good luck in the future, gentlemen!

Girls Volleyball also played several times this week. The team came up with at Aurora Central and at home against Two Roads Charter. The team is really rolling now! Way to go, ladies! They play again on Monday, 10-23, at Addenbrooke Classical Academy.

The Cross Country teams ran in the League Championship on Wednesday at DSST: Cedar-Green Lawn Park. The Girls High School won 1st place and the Boys High School placed 3rd overall. STEM had 9 runners on all-league teams: 5 on the first team and 4 on the second team. Well done SPARTANS!!!!!

The Teams run in the Region 5 Meet at Fehringer Ranch Park on 10-19 starting at 11:30.
Coach Tracy Peterson also won Girls High School Coach of the Year for the Confluence League! Congratulations, Coach Peterson!

Middle School Cross Country also ran in the League Championship Meet and took 1st place! We had three runners in the top 10 and 2 more in the top 15. Great job, Middle School! Congratulations, Coach Lee!

Fall seasons are finishing up and Winter Sports will be starting soon. Look for registration links for Boys High School basketball soon!

Go SPARTANS!!!!
