Check-In with Ms. Kovalesky

Happy New Year! The end of the year is a time for reflecting and setting goals for the year ahead. Our staff and students are back at school and ready to kick the 2024 year into high gear!

We are excited to share that over the last month, we have hired exceptional individuals to fill the last of our current vacancies. This marks the first time in a long time that we are fully staffed, with the exception of one new job posting. Please help us welcome the following individuals to our STEM Community:

  • Chris Damour, Director of Facilities
  • Brian Chaput, Director of Human Resources
  • Jennifer Newhouse, Secondary Business Teacher
  • Liza Gober, First Grade Teacher

Please remember to help us keep our students safe before and after school and to maintain positive relationships with our business partners around us by adhering to STEM’s Traffic Management Plan. Please do not park in any neighboring businesses if you are arriving early and want to wait to enter the driveline. Families can park in the neighborhood across the street. However, you must be parked legally and not blocking driveways or alleys. Students should ONLY be picked up in the driveline and appropriate drop-off/pick-up pullout off Bluepoint Road. Secondary students and elementary students with a signed permission slip can walk off campus to off-site pick-up locations as long as they are not impeding traffic and are safely using the crosswalks around campus. Thank you for being a part of our top priorities to keep our students safe and improve our relationships with our neighbors.

Our school leadership and counseling teams are working hard to plan and prepare for the 2024-25 school year. The information provided by our families via the Intent to Return/Not Return form is crucial in our planning process. If you submitted your response and are looking to change your submission, please email info@stemk12.org. If you still need to submit your response, please email info@stemk12.org with your response of either Returning or Not Returning.

If you know of a family who is interested in attending STEM, please encourage them to attend our Weekly Tours. Our Secondary Tour starts at 9 a.m. and our Elementary Tours start at 10 a.m. All tours take place when we are in session. We believe strongly in the educational and character development opportunities we provide our students at STEM and ask that you share your experiences with others.

We value your partnership and look forward to working with you this year. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns and consider joining one of the many volunteer opportunities at STEM.

In partnership,

Ms. Kovalesky, Executive Director
