Check-In with Ms. Kovalesky

Colder temperatures and the end-of-the-semester excitement are here! Students and staff are entering the home stretch, and Winter Break is right around the corner.

Thank you to our students and families for attending our Winter performances this past week. Seeing our students shine in our fine arts programs is always exciting. Please join us for one last holiday performance as our kindergarteners will showcase their talents on Wednesday, starting at 5:30 p.m., in the Elementary School Gym.

Our annual Staff Elf Cart of Happiness this coming week continues the holiday festivities for our staff. This is when our administration team goes around the building, bringing special treats, hot coffee, and hot chocolate for our staff to partake in. If you’d like to donate toward making this day special, we’re in need of Coffee Travelers. Click here for the sign-up.

While the season is full of fun activities, I want to take this opportunity to touch on an important Access lesson that our students took part in this past week. On Wednesday, our Secondary Students attended a Safe2tell assembly and learned what and how to report concerns. For those who don’t know, Safe2Tell is a national model for anonymous state-run school safety reporting lines. We were thankful our students received this information and can now better understand and use this program when needed.

I want to thank our families for reaching out with their questions and concerns regarding this past week’s situation. The safety of all students and staff is one of our top priorities. We welcome all collaborative discussions on this topic.

As I close my message for this week, I wanted to briefly touch on an important Parent Information Session for our Secondary Families around MasteryConnect and how to check grades. Please check the newsletter’s Secondary News & Updates Section to see all of the videos made and read the tutorial that was put together.

We are committed to supporting you and your child while at STEM. I hope our families have a safe and magical holiday season.

In partnership,

LynAnn Kovalesky, Executive Director
