Despite the VERY warm temperatures (and a few water jumps), the Spartan Cross Country team had some solid results at the Arapahoe Warrior XC Invite at deKoevend Park last Friday.

Abigail Hullinger was the top placer for the Spartans, running a season-best 23:40 in the Junior/Senior Girls race to finish 17th out of 123 runners (only 30 seconds off of the podium!)

The Varsity Boys did well as a team, placing 27th out of 41 teams for their best showing of the season to date. Lucian Kasperek and Silas Pacheco led the boys, placing 97th and 120th out of 235 runners.

In the Freshman/Sophomore Boys race, Nicholaus Leake-Jara led the Spartans running 22:22, which earned him 114th place (out of 329).

In the Freshman/Sophomore Girls race, Madylyn Murphy (in only her second 5K ever!) ran a 46:47.

The Spartan harriers are in action again this Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Liberty Bell XC Invite at Heritage HS. Race times are as follows:

  • Division 3 Boys: 9:30 a.m.
  • Division 3 Girls: 9:33 a.m.

Come cheer on these student-athletes!!
