Huskie Invitational Recap from Coach Kmak

Another meet down in the books. The Huskie Invitational, like many others, was a cold one. The weather was bitter, with no sun in sight but thankfully, we didn’t get caught in the snow that appeared in the evening. The meet director tried his hardest to make this happen by speeding things up with an earlier start and quickly transitioning each event. Otherwise, we bore the weather by bundling up, putting on our long sleeves and gloves, and staying protected under our amazing tent.

Our athletes performed great overall. One of our athletes, Antoni Parol, actually won his race in his heat. It was a cool moment cheering him on as he ran to the finish line, and everyone tackled him as a team at the end. We were all on cloud nine for Antoni.

Several athletes broke their personal rates. I noticed across the board an increase in our times at this meet. As a whole, we are currently trying to work on giving it our 100% at the end straight stretch or the last few meters of our races, and I saw that at this meet with my athletes. Our PRs are coming up, and that’s what’s important. We are making growth.

I have to say it was a great meet with a great team. I’m always proud of them and proud to be their coach. I can’t believe we’re close to the end of our season!

Thank you,

Coach Kmak
