Message about Texas Elementary School Tragedy

Thoughts and Prayers

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the following news with all of you. It is never easy to share when there is another incident that happens in a school that takes the lives of students and teachers.

Today in Uvalde, Texas, Robb Elementary School suffered the loss of 14 students and one teacher at the hands of an 18-year-old assailant. This news is breaking quickly and we wanted to inform you all that these will be difficult times not only for all of our students and families but for our staff members as well.

We have reached out to the Center for Strength for their support and they have an onsite clinician available for immediate assistance if anyone in our community needs it. Please reach out to them directly at 303-872-3040, or visit them at 640 Plaza Drive, Suite 130, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129.

Evan Forrester will be onsite tomorrow to provide support and the Center, along with STEM are working to secure therapy dogs for tomorrow for anyone who needs it.

Additionally, the STEM Mental Health Support Team is available as well.

Cherish the time with your families this evening and hug your loved ones close. We are #STEMStrongerTogether.

LynAnn Kovalesky, Interim Executive Director
