The Spartan track & field teams had a great day at the Denver South Ravens Invitational, breaking several existing school records and setting some new ones as well.
- Hunter Englesen set a new record in the long jump of 14-9.5 , breaking the old record by over 1.5 feet!
- Rebecca Bukowski tied the current school record in the 100m with a time of 15.39
- Jacob McCallister broke his own school record in the 1600m running a time of 5:31.22
- Ryan Byers broke the old school record in the 800m with a time of 2:26.90
- Ellason Arendale broke the school record in the 800m by almost 30 seconds, running a time of 3:00.06
Several new school records were set as well:
- Ryan Byers set a new school record in the shot put of 23-3.5″
- Carlotta Fraenza, Abby Hullinger, Olivia Staab and Ellason Arendale set a new school record in the Girls 800m Sprint Medley Relay with a time of 2:19.38
- Hunter Englesen, Ryan Byers, Jacob McCallister and Andrew Hathaway set a new school record of 4:32.02 in the boys 4x400m relay
- Olilia Staab, Abby Hullinger, Jeda Welle and Ellason Arendale set a new school record of 4:04.31
It was a long day at the track, but a good one as well. STEM athletes competed hard and beat several good, established programs. The teams are in action again on Monday at the Foothills League Relays in Longmont.
