Looking ahead to May 7th.
The
Center for Strength has several events planned for the month of May as we look ahead to the five year anniversary of May 7th and also, the closure of the center.
On May 3rd, Center for Strength will be hosting a blood drive from 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in their parking lot.
On May 7th, we welcome you to join our community to gather for a day of remembrance from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. at Civic Green Park. One of the main events that day is ‘Kendrick’s Kindness Movement’. Designated rocks at Civic Green Park will be painted to create a mural in honor of Kendrick Castillo. You can also stop by the center and pick up a small rock to paint it with positive messaging or artwork and keep it with you or give to someone who could use a smile.
You are also welcome to stop by the center to visit ‘Kendrick’s Corner’, a space within the building dedicated to his memory.
On May 31st, we invite you to bid farewell to The Center for Strength from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. The event will include games, rock art, a crepe truck and of course, sharing what will be a beautiful display from ‘Kendrick’s Kindness Movement’.
Check out this video promo for more details and we look forward to coming together with you for all of these events during this month of reflection and healing.
