STEM Fundraises for Charity: Water

After STEM’s Market Day, our K-2 students in the Virtual Learning Program discussed ways of making a difference with the profits one might make for example, from selling lemonade or self-made bookmarks. In correspondence with our Water and Landform PBL, we came together to raise a campaign with an organization called charity: water. Since charity: water was founded in 2006, they’ve been chasing one ambitious goal of ending the global water crisis. “If we work together, we believe everyone will have access to life’s most basic need within our lifetime.” Our VLP friends and family have helped raise $300 thus far and we hope to continue raising funds so more boys and girls can have access to clean water.

STEM School Highlands Ranch conducted a Market Day in April. This got our Virtual Learning Program K-2 students curious about why we would create goods and services and what greater impact we could make with our earnings! As a class family, we want to donate to Charity: Water and help provide clean water to every boy and girl. A little goes a long way and so far we have raised $300, this has served seven people so far! Thanks for donating as 100% of funds go directly to water project costs.

Move Up To Middle School Photo Gallery

Movin’ on Up!

Our fifth graders got the chance to meet some of our upperclassmen today during the Move Up to Middle School event.
Our TSA, BEST and First Robotics Teams showed off some of the cool and fun things that these kiddos could be a part of next year at STEM.

PTO Movie on the Green

Movie on the Green was a success! Thank you to all who attended and to STEM School Highlands Ranch PTO for organizing it all.

P-TECH Building Ribbon Cutting of Phase One

Ribbon is Cut!! The P-TECH Building is finally open!

Thank you to all who attended today’s event. These are special times at STEM as we are seeing all of the behind-the-scenes work from to fruition. We can’t wait to have students in the building this fall for the Cyber Security and the Robotics and Automation (formerly mechatronics) Pathways.

What is P-TECH? P-TECH stands for Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools. These pathways allow students to earn an Associate of Applied Science in Robotics and Automation degree or an Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity from Arapahoe Community College. And now, instead of having to take classes off campus at ACC, we’ll be able to hold all the classes at STEM!

Phase Two, the Healthcare Pathway, is now in development and we hope to begin moving forward on the construction of that within the next school year.

The final phase is going to be the build-out of a Business/Graphic Design Pathway. Development for that will begin next school year.

Three Students earn SACA Industry 4.0 Certification

Bragging alert! 👏👏👏

Three of our #STEMSpartans earned Smart Automation Certification Alliance certificate. Jacob Stanley, Aiden Landeros and Andrew Salazar are the first three High School students in the state of Colorado to earn this certification.

Holding this certification shows that these students hold the skills and proficiencies outlined and desired by industry. Content covered by this certificate is robotics and automation, fluid power and pneumatics, electrical theory, and PLC Programming.

This sets up our students to get those high-paying jobs right out of school.

Way to go!!
