STEM staff show school spirit to kick of December

Plenty of STEM spirit to kick off the last month of 2022! This week we saw ‘Flannel or fur day’ and ‘Dress up like a holiday treat day’. Next week get ready for ‘twins’, ‘bling’ and ‘plaid’!

STEM students learn what goes into operating an international business

Another fun and eye-opening STEM field trip! From Secondary art teacher Mr. Hicks:
“I just wanted to share our very successful and enriching trip to International Towne. At International Towne, 6th, 8th and 8th grade economic students learned the importance of global interdependence by visiting different countries. Students take on the various responsibilities involved in running international business as well as learning about various cultural business norms, supply and demand, foreign exchange rates, trade tariffs and much more.

DCSO deputies surprise Deputy Gabe with national SRO award

A surprise visit and award for Deputy Gabe from his fellow deputies with Douglas County Sheriff’s Office! He is the recipient of the National Practitioner Award from the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO).
The award is given to deputies who serve as an SRO for a minimum of three years, attend both basic and advanced courses for NASRO and complete an extra 160 hours of education.

STEM represented at Douglas County Highlands Ranch Library

Every tree has a story! STEM is representing one of the beautiful trees on display at the Douglas County Highlands Ranch Library. The ‘Forest of Stories’ exhibit displays more than 120 decorated trees all dressed up in stories – from favorite children’s tales and classic literature, to crime thrillers, mysteries and more. They are on display at all Douglas County Library locations through January 7th. No tickets or registration is required to attend. There is also a scavenger hunt and if you find certain ornaments, you could win a prize. Click the link for more details:

Basketball hoops being added to STEM's new CHSAA gym

The construction crews stayed busy over Thanksgiving break! The basketball hoops are now being installed in the gym, storage rooms have been added, sections of flooring and much more! The grand opening is right around the corner.
