STEM Staff Spirit Month Part 2
STEM Staff Spirit Month continued heading into the last school week of 2021 with a variety of contests including ‘best pajamas’, ‘best stockings’, ‘best snowy white outfit’, and of course the infamous ‘ugly sweater’ contest. The celebration concluded with the STEM Staff Holiday party at The Lake House at Cherry Creek Reservoir where STEM staff danced the night away! Thanks to everyone who helped organize the wonderful party.

A *tough* competition this year for the Ugly Sweater contest! It’s all part of the fun for STEM Staff Spirit Month. We saw a lot of creative designs, but in the end it was Annette Nason who won the grand prize for ugliest sweater. Congratulations Annette!
'Elf Room Service' makes surprise visit to staff with snack cart
The ‘Elf Room Service’ team made their rounds Thursday at the school, bringing joy and happiness in the form of a cart packed with holiday treats! Thank you elves for making the deliveries!

A great morning for some of our Elementary school students as went from one classroom to the next for “Holidays Around The World”. Thank you to our guest speakers for introducing our students to how the holiday season is celebrated in other parts of the world!
Searching for the elves
The STEM elves were on the loose in the Elementary school this week! There were 50 elves hiding in different places all throughout the building. Students were challenged with finding them all before the staff does. Great job students!

Congratulations to our High School BEST Robotics team, who competed at the regional competition last weekend and received 1st place in Presentation and 2nd place in Notebook. We are so proud of the team and all the hard work you put into this season!
NYLF Medical Program - STEM Student Recognition
We are so excited that Mishika Bhatia ,a STEM eighth-grader, was selected for the NYLF Medical Program for summer 2022. She was accepted in early October, and has an incredible opportunity to visit the University of California, Berkeley, for nine days in the summer for an immersive experience with doctors, healthcare professionals and guest speakers to explore careers in healthcare. A big thank you so much to the advisor, Ms. Basu and her parents for giving her such an incredible opportunity. Can’t wait to hear more!
Cyber Patriots STATE
We are so proud of our High School and Middle School Cyber Patriots teams for getting into the STATE Round. The teams competed on Friday, Dec. 10 and we are waiting to see which teams make it to the Semi-Final Round in January. The coaches are so proud of the efforts, hard work and commitment that each student has put in. Go Spartans! Thank you to all the coaches and volunteers for their support and dedication.
Former Professional Basketball Player Ervin Johnson Reads to 4th Grade Students
Ervin Johnson, a former professional basketball player is a community ambassador for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association. He played in the NBA for the Seattle SuperSonics, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves as a center from 1993 to 2006. He read the students two books and shared with them his top-10 rules on how to be successful in life.
