STEM’s future project is called Stem Building Addition and New CHSSA Gym and Remodel. The school is a member of the Colorado High School Activities Association (“CHSAA”) and the gymnasium will meet the CHSAA’s standards.
The project was presented to staff by Hord, Coplan Macht, the architect, on Friday, Sept. 24 and has been presented to and approved by the STEM Board of Directors. A tentative date for a groundbreaking on construction is set for Friday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m.
Phase I:
- A new two-story building addition will be added to the elementary school.
- The first floor of the new addition will house a new middle school cafeteria.
- A new MS kitchen will be added within the existing elementary school cafeteria.
- The second floor of the new addition will consist of four new classrooms.
- Projected to start in Fall 2021 and finish in Summer 2022.
Phase II:
- Science and engineering classrooms will be renovated and relocated.
- Construction of the CHSSA gymnasium, fitness room, and locker rooms.
- The gymnasium will primarily serve high school and middle school students.
- Science and engineering classrooms will be renovated and relocated.
- Projected to start in late Summer 2022 and finish in early 2023
