Each week, members of the STEM Staff recognize their fellow teammates for the elements from the Formula for Character that they were exhibiting. Check out this week’s teachers that were honored.

Mackenzie goes above and beyond to provide support for our teachers. She is always looking for innovative ways to push our learning with PBL.

Jon works tirelessly to provide our students and staff with the support that they need. He is the first one to lend a hand and stand shoulder to shoulder with teachers.

Jason did a great job designing department shirts and trying to keep the requests of others in mind.

Jessie always has a listening ear and seeks out ways to help solve problems. Her dedication and expertise in EVERYTHING is truly appreciated. She is a great role model for our students and a great support to staff.

From the moment I met this person, I’ve admired the way she is with the students and staff. Especially the students! I’ve tried to learn from this person daily. She has the skills to teach all sorts of kids in a way that helps them grow. This teacher doesn’t get recognized enough for all of the work she puts into making a difference in the kids’ lives and mine. Thanks for being YOU, Shelly!

Karen is always checking in on students and teachers, making sure that they feel supported and are getting what they need to be successful. She is a tremendous resource and advocate for our school. We are so happy that she decided to join STEM!

Melanie took time out of her day to sit with a crying student. She let that student know that it was okay to not be okay. She was raw, genuine, and human. It was a beautiful moment that took only a few minutes but make a lasting impression on the student and myself. Thank you for being a trusted adult in the building.

Amie McElroy goes out of her way to make others feel truly valued. Her reliably inclusive practices, nonjudgemental character, and genuine empathy for others make me feel welcome and important every day at STEM.

Mr. Smith is extremely caring and understanding of his students’ needs. I really appreciate and value the safe and supportive classroom environment he has created and the resulting influence this has on the school.

Chelsea Bench

Chelsea has been going above and beyond with her work for both the Elementary Student Council and as a part of the Read Across America team! Chelsea has taken the reins on a number of projects this year, including our Scholastic Book Fair! Thank you for all the hard work you put in for your kiddos, Chelsea! You help make STEM special!!
