She always lets me hang out in her room.

Brian Moore

Respect & Integrity

From students:

He helps us with math and makes are life better and more fun.

He’s cool, chill, and both lenient enough on grading to not make things hard but strict enough to make high grades feel more satisfying. Assignments and tests feel achievable and challenging at the same time. He allows us to relax in class and have fun, while still teaching us and letting us learn! Even though it’s his first year teaching here, he’s already a much better teacher (from my perspective) than most other teachers I have.

He’s epic!

Headshot of Ryan Alsup

Ryan Alsup

Integrity

From students:

Mr. Alsup has always been an excellent example of how the ideal citizen should behave. I’ve never seen him angry or yelling at another student or me as other staff members have in the past. He’s always held himself to a high standard and is very respectful to all students. Now that being said, Mr. Alsup still holds students to a high standard but knows how to calmly help students recognize when they aren’t behaving properly. He explains why they should behave differently and usually it works.

Katie Bouchard

Empathy

From students:

She’s always kind and somehow radiates an energy of positivity.

Headshot of Lauchlin Blue

Headshot of Nicole Walbek

Nicole Walbek

Respect

From students:

She’s fun, thoughtful, and can actually teach us things while making them fun, or at least not boring. Many other teachers are super strict on assignments, and when lecturing us they don’t let us ask silly questions or have fun with our friends. Mrs. Walbek, on the other hand, is fairly lenient and understanding on grading, giving us both ample time to study and for corrections. She also makes learning actually fun (I know right? I didn’t believe it either)! Letting us have fun, walk around and talk during work time, play in our free time, and isn’t quick to punishment or anger. Yet, she still teaches us in an engaging, enjoyable way that really motivates us to do better. Things like kahoots and candy incentives give us motivation to actually do work, rather than just a number on a piece of paper. Thanks, Mrs. Walbek!

Erik Hicks

Empathy

From students:

Mr. Hicks is one of my favorite teachers, he really cares about his student’s wellbeing and always wants to make sure people aren’t struggling and is there to help. He also is really cool and sometimes we talk about cars. It’s good to have a connection like that with a teacher.
