The Spartan track & field teams had another strong showing this past Saturday at the Legend Track Clash.
2 brand-new records were set:
- Hunter Engleson, Ryan Byers, Andrew Hathaway and Kellan Shiffer ran 1:47.74 in the 4x200m relay (even after dropping the baton)!
- Kellan Shiffer set a new record in the 300m hurdles with a 44.44 (finishing 12th overall).
5 previous school records were broken:
- Rebecca Bukowski lowered her own record by 0.5 seconds in the 100m hurdles with a 23.19.
- Jacob McCallister broke the 400m record by 2 seconds, running 1:00.20
- Ellason Arendale dropped a whopping 10 seconds in beating her previous school record in the 800m, running 2:50.86
- The 800m Sprint Medley Relay team of Rebecca Bukowski, Abby Hullinger, Olivia Staab and Ellason Arendale beat the previous record by 3 seconds, running a 2:16.64
- The boys 4x400m relay team of Jacob McCallister, Ryan Byers, Andrew Hathaway and Kellan Shiffer destroyed the previous record by over 20 seconds, posting a new record of 4:07.25
The teams are in action again on Wednesday at Englewood HS and Fri/Sat at the Pomona Invite at Jeffco Stadium!
