Update from KOSON/STEM BOD on CIO Search

STEM Board of Directors

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Community,

The Board of Directors would like to update you on the progress of finding and hiring the Chief Innovation Officer for KOSON Schools.

For those following along from the beginning, we hosted first- and second-round interviews in February and then welcomed our top finalist to present to the Board on February 21.

We then went into contract development and negotiations with our finalist. Unfortunately, during that process, our finalist indicated to us that she had accepted another position. Our Board has reopened the CIO search, and the Search Committee has already begun prescreening and identifying candidates to bring in for interviews.

Identified candidates will be interviewed by the KOSON Shared Services team on Thursday, April 6, and on Thursday, April 20. Once the KOSON Shared Services team has interviewed all candidates they will provide their feedback to the Board. The Board will announce the finalists that will advance to the presentation interview round.

The Presentation Interview will be during a public Special Board meeting that our community will be welcome to attend. Those that attend in person will have the opportunity to fill out a feedback form that the Board will take under consideration. Following the presentations, the Board will convene to Executive Session to interview each finalist.

Candidate searches are always full of ups and downs, and we appreciate the previous candidates that took part in early February. We will continue to work toward finding the best candidate for our first-ever Chief Innovation Officer to take KOSON Schools to the next level and bring replication to reality.

Thank you for your continued support of our work and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Kelly Reyna, BOD Chair and President
