Update on Mask Mandate – Saturday, Oct. 9

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families,

There have been a lot of new developments within Douglas County over the last few weeks, as they work to establish their new Health Department.

While much is still to be determined, we want to share with our families that we are watching these developments closely as to how they will impact everyone at STEM.

As we head into the final week of school before Fall Break, we want to share with our families, students and staff that we will continue to uphold the mask mandate as a dress code requirement. Medical exemptions on file with the school nurse will be the only exception.

We will use this next week to collect information from all our stakeholders to determine what the next steps will be after fall break.

Our primary goal is to remain open for in-person learning. Mask wearing greatly reduced the spread of positive covid cases at STEM. Our students under 11 do not have the option to vaccinate.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We will provide an additional update in the coming days.

#STEMStrongerTogether,

STEM School Highlands Ranch Board of Directors and the STEM Leadership Team
