Update to Volunteer On-Site COVID Testing Process

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families,

As you may have heard, STEM School Highlands Ranch is officially enrolled in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s (CDPHE) free, voluntary, and statewide COVID-19 school testing program for the 2021-22 school year. Our first day of testing was last Tuesday and we had an overwhelming response.

Due to a large number of students and staff who want to take advantage of the testing program, we have to make the following adjustments to the process so that it does not impact instructional time for students in the classroom.

We will be asking anyone who has opted into the voluntary program, to please sign-up for a timeslot for this coming Tuesday. We will only be able to test 75 Elementary Students and 75 Secondary Students each Tuesday due to the timeframe that the testers are at STEM and due to logistical constraints. Each week, we will send out another sign-up form to those who have opted into the program so that they can pick a timeslot that works best for their student. Please note that your student must have a signed consent form in the system in order to be tested.

  • To enroll your child, please visit the portal via this link. This is a live link so if families change their minds, they can return to the link to opt-out, or opt-in.
  • To sign-up your child for a timeslot, please click here to complete the Sign-Up Genius. This form will be active until 8 a.m. Monday morning.
    • Elementary students will be called from their classrooms and brought to the testing room.
    • Secondary students will receive a reminder on Monday afternoon of their timeslot. It is the responsibility of the Secondary student to report at their designated time.

We are asking families whose student was just tested to please wait a week before having your student get tested again in order to allow those who were not able to get tested this past week to get tested for the first time. Please reach out to nurse@stemk12.org with any questions regarding signing up.

Thank you for your collaboration and continued support.
