Wait…Is it Labor Day weekend already??? Where did August go? It was a busy month, but it was loaded with plenty of great moments and rewarding experiences, too. It has been great to meet all the new students and staff. I love the interactions and the “rock, paper, scissors” games.
Occasionally, I might share with you the same topic from last year’s Walking the Beat. If a Friday is near a particular holiday, I like to share the same thoughts that I did a year ago. So, today, I am doing that, sharing with you what I wrote a year ago.
Weekends like this one bring a lot of opportunities to have fun but also bring reminders to be safe. Whatever you plan on doing, please be cautious and, as I mentioned before, be constantly aware. Fall is in the air, but during the next three days, the weather will be warm and sunny. That means outdoor activities: running, cycling, swimming, etc. Be responsible while doing any of the activities mentioned before. Keep an eye on your little ones and ensure they are safe while having fun.
Now, here is a reminder to everyone…parents and teenagers who drive, too. If you consume any alcoholic beverages, please don’t drive. Drinking and driving is one of the most selfish acts I’ve ever seen. Too often have I and my co-workers responded to crash scenes where alcohol was involved. Please be mindful and a responsible driver. Enjoy the weekend, get some rest, and spend time with your loved ones.
Thank you for helping us to keep our students safe! I can’t tell you enough how thankful I am for having the opportunity to be part of your student’s story. If you have questions, please email me at gabe.uribe@https://stemk12.org, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you again for your time…GO SPARTANS!
Be safe!
