Everyday is a new opportunity to learn more, more, and more. This week, we learned more about how to work as a team when it comes to an Evacuation, like we had on Thursday. It is always the unexpected that some people fear the most.
Even though the situation with the gas leak was unexpected, the response was excellent, and everything was under control very quickly. Fire Department, Sheriff’s Office, and school administrators worked together in a very coordinated effort. Parents and students were awesome in following directions from the leaders in charge. Thank you so much for listening and for your cooperation. These kinds of situations are exactly why we practice all the time.
Remember my first Walking the Beat of this school year? I discussed the importance of being familiar with the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). I encouraged parents to read through the material from the link I shared. Even if you are not in the building, it is good to understand this protocol to know the actions taken according to the situation. If you missed the link I shared back then, let me include it here now so you can take a look at it here.
Also, please continue doing a fantastic job at pick-up time. As I mentioned last week, it is very important to follow the directions of the volunteers/staff in charge of the ingress and egress of the parking lot. Make sure to come into the parking lot at the right time and no earlier. When vehicles start to line up in the street too early, it creates a traffic hazard.
Thank you for helping us to keep our students safe! I can’t tell you enough how thankful I am for having the opportunity to be part of your student’s story. If you have questions, please email me at gabe.uribe@https://stemk12.org and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you again for your time…GO SPARTANS!
Be safe!
