This week we had the first Lockdown Drill of the school year. It went well, but just like I have said in the past, these drills are extremely helpful. We learned a lot in this last one, and we are all working really hard to make things better. I appreciate everyone that was here and participated in the drill. But also, please know I understand why some students decided not to participate. If you, as a parent, or your student ever want to stop by my office to chat about our drills, please do so.
I mentioned this at the beginning of the year, but I would like to reiterate it. It is very important to become familiar with the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). I encouraged everyone to read through the material from the link I shared. Even if you are not in the building, it is good to understand this protocol to know the actions taken according to the situation. If you missed the link I shared back then, let me include here now so you can take a look at it: https://iloveuguys.org/
The Fall Break is here. Please enjoy the time off. You might have to work or have some other engagements already scheduled but please spend time with your students. I love to encourage students to spend some time outside every day. In a blink of an eye, the snow and cold weather will be here, and we won’t be able to enjoy that much time outside. Please stay safe if you go out of town. Drive carefully and don’t drink and drive. Don’t leave any valuables inside your vehicle overnight. And above everything else, please have fun!
Thank you for helping us to keep our students safe! I can’t tell you enough how thankful I am for having the opportunity to be part of your student’s story. If you have questions, please email me at gabe.uribe@https://stemk12.org, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Have a wonderful Fall Break.
Thank you again for your time…GO, SPARTANS!
Be safe!
