The Girls’ Soccer team started their season with a win over Skyview High School in Thornton last Saturday. The JV won 2-1, and the Varsity won 4-2. Next, they played Skyview Academy on Wednesday afternoon at our home field at David Lorenz Park. Skyview is a very aggressive, highly-ranked team that lost the State Championship game by one goal last year. Our girls battled to a 0-2 close score at halftime but came up short in the final score of 0-5, including one unfortunate own goal. It was a well-played, tough game. Well done ladies! The team plays again after the break on Monday, March 25, at William Smith; Wednesday, March 27, at Elizabeth High School; Friday, March 29, at home ( David Lorenz Park ) against Addenbrooke and then one at Lamar High School. It will be a very busy week!
Boys’ JV Volleyball played in a tournament at Douglas County High School last Saturday and won their bracket! The team had to play four matches and got a lot of good experience. The boys also played a spirited match at home against Arrupe Jesuit on March 11. The match went to a deciding third set and was fun to watch! Well done, gentlemen! Both Varsity and JV play next on April 2, at Windsor Charter. Good luck, gentlemen!
Middle School Boys’ basketball is in the final weekend of playoffs! Our 6th grade team is in the Championship game on Saturday, March 16, at 1 p.m. at Northridge Recreation Center in Highlands Ranch. Our 7th/8th grade team (Stone) will play at 11 a.m. in the semi-finals and 12 p.m. in the Championship game if they advance. Good luck, Middle School basketball!
Our eSports teams have begun their Spring season and are having fun winning some and losing some matches. We have new coaches for the Spring – Rachel Espinosa and Geoffrey Pietrovito have stepped up after our former coach had to step down due to scheduling difficulties. Good luck, eSports!
The Boys’ Volleyball teams started their season this week. They played The Vanguard School on Wednesday and did well in the first match of the season. Next, they played Aurora West College Prep, which is also the Spartans, and lost a tough match. Aurora West reclaimed the Spartan Helmet. We have another chance to win back the helmet.
