Monitoring Weather Impacts from Winter Storm

Monitoring Weather

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families, Students and Staff,

Your STEM Leadership Team is closely monitoring the Winter Storm and its impacts on our operations. DCSD will hold a Weather Call this evening to determine the impacts of the storm and if any adjustments need to be made to school-day operations for Wednesday, Feb. 15. If no call is made tonight, the DCSD team will meet again in the morning to reassess.

We wanted to share with you the following reminders that we’ve shared via our Weekly Parent Newsletter.

Late Start Schedule: STEM does not mimic the Late Start Policy and schedule put forth by DCSD. If Douglas County calls for a Delayed Start, STEM’s Virtual School Day Policy will take effect, and teachers will communicate with students on how and when to access their assignments.

We are in close and constant communication with DCSD and will update families as soon as we receive word on any decision that is made. We aim to inform families as soon as possible so you can adjust accordingly. We hope to send a message to families no later than 5 a.m.

If STEM is on a normal operating schedule, we want to remind families to please plan accordingly. Please leave early to allow extra time on the road, and please be safe while traveling to campus.

Please reach out with any questions to communications@stemk12.org.

Thank you,

Nicole Bostel, Communications Director
